The Military Archives have recently released the records of the Irish Army Census of 1922 on the 12/13th November to coincide with the 90th anniversary of when the original census was conducted.
The collection is made up of ten volumes of leather bound Census Returns that are alphabetically arranged by post and are a valuable source of information for anyone researching any person serving in the army in November 1922. Online access is also arranged alphabetically with two google maps of Ireland detailing areas with names beginning from A-G and H-Y. When you click on a pin on the map, it provides a name and a link which then click through to pdf scans of the records. Access the maps here.
