Retired ISS Commander Chris Hadfield has featured in four promotional videos by Tourism Ireland. Canadian astronaut Hadfield became Ireland's adopted spaceman when he tweeted many pictures of Ireland from space, dressed up in a green bow tie and green jumper for St. Patrick's Day, and sang Danny Boy from the space station. He also tweeted 'as gaeilge' and this was marked by an award from the Lord Mayor of Dublin. His daughter Kristin is also a PhD student at Trinity College accepted the prize on his behalf.
Since he had charmed the hearts of the Irish people and was also a lover of Ireland himself, Tourism Ireland appointed him as Tourism ambassador for Ireland and he has visited many tourist attractions in Dublin, travelled northwards to the Inishowen peninsula, and also visited the Titanic exhibition in Belfast.
Tourism Ireland filmed him as he travelled the length and breadth of Ireland and produced the following videos:
An Astronaut's Guide to Hurling
An Astronaut's Guide to the Wild Atlantic Way
An Astronaut's Guide to the Guinness Storehouse
An Astronaut's Guide to Titanic Belfast
