This gem of a short film traces the steps of a returned immigrant's journey from Cork harbour to the source if the river Lee in Gougane Barra.
The film is called Dark Moon Hollow and follows an old man from Cork as he makes a solitary pilgrimage to the cell of St. Finbarr, first Bishop of Cork. As he travels along the River Lee, he remembers the poetry and music of his youth and memories of working abroad in England. When he reached the of his journey he finds his pilgrimage rewarded on the misty and magical island where the 6th Century Bishop spent his days.
Thanks to Clem J Ó Díomasaigh who shared this with us - it is his late grand dad Jim who starred as the old man in the film.
