Stephanie Rainey from Cork made this poignant music video for her song 'Please Don't Go' and released it on Facebook and Youtube only two days ago. A song that will strike a cord with anybody who has a loved one who has died, has already received over 2 million views on Facebook and over 100,000 views on YouTube.
She posted about having gone through the grief for her nephew a few years ago, how it changed her life forever and that the video meant a lot to her because of this.
Rainey wrote "I feel like this song has resonated the most with me since writing it. I remember the exact place it came from and it never loses its meaning no matter how many times I play it. Since then, I’ve wanted to create a music video that reflects this and which could potentially help people who are struggling with loss while also giving people a chance to tell their story."
She thanked the people who took part in the video for their "honesty and willingness" to take part in the video but most of all for their "tremendous courage".
Knowing there are so many other people have gone through the same loss, she hopes that anybody who watches it gets something from it.
It may bring up a lot of emotion, so perhaps it might be good to find somewhere private to watch it.
