Now Back to the Team..And in case you have been too busy to follow the happenings in your favourite PL club, here are some of the mouth watering signings that has happened so far.
Liverpool FC’s first signing for the 2017 summer season was Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian was snapped from AS Roma for a whopping £43.9 millions including add-ons. Fortunately for The Reds, the signing happened before the record breaking Neymar transfer of the same year otherwise they would have been forced to cough up a lot more than what they paid.
Also, in hindsight, Liverpool got the better end of the deal when they paid for Salah although back then, it was the most expensive signing done by Liverpool. Mohamed Salah has so far enjoyed a great first season with The Reds, scoring 44 goals in all competitions and breaking many records in the process.
This is one player that could see Liverpool FC to the last match of the Premier League.
Almost nobody knew that Liverpool has any interest in the Brazilian until just a few hours to the deal. Signed at £43.7 millions including add-ons, this is not a bad figure for the much coveted 24 year old midfielder.
Fabinho was brought in as a direct replacement for Emre Can who moved over to Juventus at the expiration of his time with at Anfield. Fabinho is believed to be an upgrade to the already rich midfield squad of the English club and there is a heavy expectation for him to deliver the goods this season.
Kieta should have come over to the Anfield side since 2017 when Liverpool indicated interest in the Guinean, but RP Leipzig, his club were not interested in selling for any amount.
The midfielder had a £48 million release clause on his contract which could be activated in 2018. Because Liverpool wanted Keita, they agreed to pay a premium on the clause based on where Leipzig will finish in the 2017/2018 season.
Liverpool ended up paying an additional £4.75 millions because Leipzig finished in the Europa League. This brought the signing to £52.75 millions.
With this kind of fee, Liverpool fans can expect to see some inspiring action this season.
It is no secret that Liverpool FC has been facing goalkeeper issues for some time. And while it looked like this problem will not be solved before start of the season, the club pulled a rabbit trick by signing up AC Roma’s goalkeeper Becker amidst interest from rival English club Chelsea.
Alisson Becker is currently the most expensive goalkeeper signing in the world at £65 millions breaking the long standing record of €52 million paid for Buffon by Juventus in 2001.
With this number of high profile and high signing players coming into Alfield, Liverpool FC has no other choice but to bring home the cup.
