Celtic Christmas in Atlanta

On December 16-17 the fourteenth annual Atlanta Celtic Christmas Concert brought Grammy Award winning musicians to Emory University’s Schwartz Center for Performing Arts.

The concert featured performances by Moya Breenan, the legendary lead singer from Clannad, banjo player Alison Brown, and a host of regional musicians, dancers, singers and storytellers.

The theme of the evening, “Quis Est Deus,” was chosen by Riverdance composer Bill Whelan based on a seventh century Irish poem in which a fairy questions St. Patrick about the nature of the Christian God he is bringing to Ireland.

As the echoing sound of harps and fiddles filled the auditorium, the audience were given a chance to both celebrate the season and reflect on it meaning.
