IrishAbroad.com celebrates 10 years online March 17, 2008To mark
our 10th year anniversary, IrishAbroad.com
is relaunching the site by making all new content FREE and
will gradually make all archive content free.
IrishAbroad.com started life in San Francisco in a closet
1998 as a service for Irish expats in California. Founders
Bill Hanafin and Tessa Gurney soon noticed the site's
attraction to a global Irish audience and provided community
services on the site for the Irish worldwide to connect
virtually with each other such as discussions and chat.
In the 10 years since its inception, over 240,000 members
have registered on
http://www.irishabroad.com
We would like to thank their members for their commitment
and support over the years. It is the many and varied
members that make IrishAbroad.com the largest global Irish
community online.
With the relaunch, IrishAbroad.com has also
updated the Social Networking features. Users can now
connect and keep up with friends and family, add their own
photo, share photos,
reconnect with people, discuss interests and hobbies and add
blogs.
IrishAbroad.com will soon be adding groups to the list of
social networking features where the many Irish and Celtic
organisations, societies, clubs, and clans worldwide can
manage their members from one central area and network with
other similar groups around the world.
As always, we appreciate your feedback and suggestions on
all the new changes. Please send on all comments to
feedback@irishabroad.com
Make sure to tell all your friends and family about the
new IrishAbroad.com and you could be in with a chance to
WIN 2 Flights to Ireland
On this day, the people behind the scenes in
IrishAbroad.com would like to wish you all a Happy
Birthday and a
Happy St.
Patrick's day.
