Irish Fundraiser for Clinton
February 14, 2008
By April Drew
A MAJOR Irish American fundraiser for Senator Hillary Clinton will take place in New York next Wednesday, February 20.
“We are getting behind Hillary as a community and as individuals who feel she has been great for Ireland and Irish America on issues such as Northern Ireland and immigration reform,” said Co. Tipperary native Declan Kelly, a major fundraiser for the Clinton campaign who has helped raise over $1.5 million for her presidential efforts. Kelly is the chief executive of the financial public relations firm FD.
“We know this is the critical time in the presidential campaign, and we believe that Ireland and the Irish American community would benefit greatly from having Hillary in the Wh-ite Hou-se.”
Clinton will personally appear at the event and answ-er questions on issues relating to Ire-land. So far she had been winning 63% of the Irish Catholic vote ac-cording to exit polls.
Those interested in attending the fundraiser, which is priced at $2,300 per ticket, can call 212-244-0411.
