I went into Linnane’s fabled pub in Kilfenora village the other evening, dropping down through the sundrenched stonelands past Kilnaboy of the explicitly lewd Sheela-na-Gig, and past the great castle of Red Maire on the high road to Carron on the top of the Burren.
