Excess Ireland Is So Crass

Budget Day here used to be anticipated with trepidation, wondering what extra taxes would be piled on us to pay the welfare bill for all the unemployed. But not anymore.

The economy is still booming, we have almost full employment and tax revenues are rolling in so fast that Cowen now expects to have €4billion extra left over in this Budget to spend in the coming year.
