THE CUNY Institute for Irish American Studies presents a screening of Romance, directed by George Haas, and a conversation with the film’s screenwriter, author James McCourt. At Lehman College, Carman Hall B-34 at 1:30 p.m. Romance (1980) was directed by George Haas (Friends & Lovers) and written by James McCourt (Time Remaining, Queer Street). It is described as a picaresque film featuring performances by novelist Edmund White, poet Tom Carey, and wide host of others from the downtown New York scene of the late 1970s. Never released, this legendary underground film runs 45 minutes and will be followed by a conversation between James McCourt and Prof. William M. Hoffman, Lehman College Theater Department. Concern Winter Ball
THE 2003 Concern Winter Ball, a black tie event which includes cocktails, dinner, music will be held tonight to raise awareness of the work of Concern does around the world.
