Bono Hosts Burns

BONO has a pretty close bond with supermodel Christy Turlington and her husband, Irish American filmmaker/actor Ed Burns. He gave Christy away at the 2003 ceremony and they’ve all stayed close since, so naturally it was only fitting that Bono threw a party for his pals to mark their visit to Dublin last week.

Ed and Christy were there to debut his film The Groomsmen at the Dublin International Film Festival. Bono, as you can see from the photo, wasn’t shy about giving his seal of approval to the film, which was based in part on Burns’ real-life wedding experiences.

“I went through what was involved in having to plan a wedding and having to deal with all the complications that come with that, whether it’s your friends and family,” Burns said of his film, which opened in the U.S. last year.

Christy, meanwhile, was checking out Dublin for the first time in five years. “There’s been so much newness. It’s great but it’s hard to find my way around,” she said.
