Cheap Diddy

By Debbie McGoldrick

WANT to know one of the ways how rich celebs like P. Diddy get even richer? They order the finest booze that money can buy, and then take off without paying their tab!

That’s what happened last weekend at the Spirit nightclub in Dublin, where Diddy and his crew repaired to after a sold-out show at the Point. Management offered up the first round on the house – five bottles of Moet champagne at a price of *120 each.

Once the thirsty rappers quaffed that round, they ordered another. But when it came time to settle up, wouldn’t you know it, Diddy had no euros or credit cards in his pocket, nor did any of his hangers-on.

“The whole thing was ridiculous,” Spirit manager Rory Murphy told the Irish Independent. “The only one who offered to pay was an Irish security guard who offered us his American Express card, but we don’t accept them.”

Murphy, though, is chalking up the episode to experience, and holds out some hope that perhaps cheapskate Diddy will part with some of his millions to settle up. “He is still welcome back at the club,” he added.
