IT’S official — U2 bassist Adam Clayton is officially off the market. U2 announced his engagement to long-term girlfriend, Canadian Susie Smith, last week. The happy couple will marry next year. Good for Adam. He certainly dodged a bullet when his last engagement to catwalk catastrophe Naomi Campbell ended in the 1990s. Susie used to be the personal assistant to U2 manager Paul McGuinness. She’s now an executive with record industry giant EMI . . .

HE’S certainly The Boss when it comes to ticket sales — Bruce Springsteen’s show at the Point Theatre in Dublin on May 5 sold out in eight minutes last week, representing the 11th fastest sell-out in Ireland this year. That show is the opening leg of Springsteen’s solo European tour . . .

SOME British actress named Rosamund Pike says Pierce Brosnan isn’t a good kisser. She was a Bond girl in Die Another Day, and obviously hasn’t capitalized on the exposure. “I’m filming a smaller independent film called Fracture and I have to kiss a fabulous actor called Ryan Gosling. He’s a great kisser — it’s so different from my first on-screen kiss with Pierce.” And our reply to that is — Rosamund who???
