Colin’s Dad a Publican.

COLIN Farrell, one of the busiest actors on the planet, has a few days to spare around the holidays, and he’s going to be spending some of them back home in Ireland – specifically, at his dad’s new pub in Drogheda, Co. Louth.

It’s true that Colin never met a watering hole he didn’t like, but his pop Eamon Farrell has just invested in a place called the Star and Crescent on Trinity Street, which is now sure to become the trendiest location outside of Dublin.

The newly revamped club had its official opening on Thursday, December 4, but Colin was unable to make it. No, he wasn’t home changing his new son James’s diapers, but he’s got plenty of filming commitments – he’s starring in Alexander the Great alongside Angelina Jolie.

Speaking of the baby Farrell, he visited Dublin for the first time with his mom, Colin’s ex Kim Bordenave, an American model, of course. The hard-partying, female-loving Farrell isn’t ruling out a reconciliation with Kim, believe it or not.

“I’m not sure that marriage is something that’s a big issue for us,” he says. “All I will say is that Kim is an amazing woman, and we’re going to see what happens between us. The most important thing is that our son is happy and healthy, and I’m looking forward to being a great dad to him.”

Colin’s mother, meanwhile, is urging her star son to cool his jets a bit when it comes to partying. “My mum wishes I drank and smoked a little less. But she knows her son,” he says.

“She knows I’m just finding my way in the world. After a long day I can’t go home and go to bed. I have to have a couple of pints.”

Maybe someday when baby James is older and wilder, Colin will recall his mother’s words. Maybe . . . but doubtful!
