Though Colin Farrell’s first big-budget starring role in Alexander provided the holiday turkey at the box office last week, at least the premiere parties for the film are still going strong.

Farrell will bring his project home to Dublin for a glittering bash in January, and he’s lined up all the stars to make an appearance. The proceeds from the night will be given to Colin’s favorite Irish charity, the Children’s Cancer Center, a very worthy cause for sure.

“We wanted to do something here with Alexander because there’s so many Irish actors and crew working on it,” Colin told the Sunday World. “Angie’s coming in, and so are Oliver and Val. It’s the night before the film is released in Ireland so there’ll be a great buzz and we’ll have a good night.” Angie, of course, is the lovely Angelina Jolie, who Colin grew very close to on the set. Oliver Stone has taken an awful critical lashing since the film’s release last week, so perhaps he might give the Dublin opening a pass. 

Then again, it’s been said that Alexander will do better in Europe, so Stone probably should go to the opening of an envelope to ensure some bit of financial recourse for the project’s sore backers. It’s U.S. reception must be a bitter disappointment for the heralded director, who was supposed to be basking in Oscar glow instead of critical muck.

Alexander will make its Dublin bow at the Savoy cinema. Some 800 guests are expected to party into the wee hours afterwards. Then it’s up to the paying Irish public to vote with their wallets — or not.

Incidentally, in other Colin news, we glimpsed a piece in Monday’s Daily Star that’s truly frightening if true. “Colin’s Top Secret Parisian Pleasure” was the headline, and no, it wasn’t making reference to the French capital, but rather the awful media creature Paris Hilton.

Colin is said to be dating the sleazy heiress. Ugh, how skanky! 

A source told the newspaper that Colin was hanging around when Barbara Walters conducted a recent interview with Hilton, “and the couple went on to continue the party, alone, after the cameras shut off,” said source added. Please, please Colin, come out of the gutter — all is forgiven, even your bad dye job in Alexander!

Colin also made time last week with Ellen DeGeneres on her daytime talk show. The “lusty leprechaun” scooped Ellen’s pretty face in his hands and planted a big smooch on her lips. 

Only problem? Ellen’s a lesbian with a girlfriend. “I’m gonna be in trouble when I get home,” the TV chatterbox joked.
