BONO is in the mood to buy real estate, according to the Sunday World, which reports the U2 frontman has made a “serious bid” of somewhere close to $60 million for a full-floor in the famous Dakota apartment building on Central Park West where John Lennon was shot, and where his widow Yoko Ono still lives. Bono already owns property in the big city, not far from the Dakota, and we’ll take this “exclusive” from the World with a grain of salt for sure. The paper also reports that Bono has purchased a French restaurant in Manhattan’s West Village called Le Zoo, and after giving it the once-over he plans on re-opening it in the New Year as an Italian joint. SAMUEL L. Jackson, Colin Farrell’s co-star in S.W.A.T., really put a stupid British interviewer in her place. When she asked him what it was like working with Farrell, “because he’s one of our own,” Jackson replied, “Isn’t he from Ireland?” The talking head said, “Yeah, but we claim him ‘cos Ireland is beside us,” to which Sam shot back, “You British keep claiming people that don’t belong to you. We had that problem in America too – it was called slavery.” Right on!
