Denis Leary, the Irish American comic currently on fire with his hit FX series Rescue Me, is headlining the annual Bulmers International Comedy Festival in Dublin next month. Leary’s folks hail from Co. Kerry, so it wouldn’t be surprising if he planned a side trip to the Kingdom. His show, not surprisingly, has just been picked up for a third season . . .
Colin Farrell is being tipped as a co-star of a movie called Pride and Glory about three generations of New York City Police Department cops. Edward Norton is ru-mored to also be mulling an-other starring role in the project . . .
Remember Gillian Anderson, who earned fame and fortune for her role as FBI agent Dana Scully on The X-Files? She’s starring in a new movie called The Mighty Celt which was shot in Belfast. The film, which co-stars Robert Carlyle of The Full Monty fame, centers on greyhound racing, and Anderson had a great time on the set, she says. “What amazed me about Belfast was how much of a small-town feel it had. It felt like everybody knew each other,” she told The Sunday Tribune. |
