Plans for Wife

“I am a naturalized American citizen. Next year I plan on marrying my Irish fiancée. She lived here for a few months earlier this year, but didn’t like it much and returned home to take care of her mother, who has Alzheimer’s. Our wedding is in the summer, but I don’t see her returning to the U.S. with me, at least for a while. Should we apply for a green card for her right after we marry, or wait until she gets here? Or should we forget about it altogether for the time being, as it’s likely that we will eventually settle back home anyway? I just became an American over the summer — are there any restrictions on me if I do move home so soon?”
