AFTER a deluge of criticism over his decision to downgrade the Fire Department of New York in Saturday’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade including verbal slaps from Cardinal Edward Egan and a representative of the Ford Motor Company, financial backers of the march Parade Committee Chairman John Dunleavy faces a new crisis this week as the Grand Council of United Emerald Societies has called for his resignation over remarks he made in the Daily News charging that firefighters who take part in the parade do so while drunk.
