| Gay Marriage Activists Lobby
By
Georgina Brennan
IRISH gay activist, Brendan Fay, who was married in a civil ceremony
in Canada in July 2003, is heading up a lobby exercise in Ireland to extend
marriage rights to gay couples.
As part of that, Fay and his partner, Tom Moulton, are being featured
all this week on the Reuters Times Square billboard until July 14th at
5:13 p.m. The submission of the picture was sent in to the “Nationwide”
Life Comes at You Fast Project by Marriage Equality founder Jesus Lebron
in celebration of the third anniversary of Fay/Moulton marriage.
The billboard script reads, “Tom, Brendan wishing you legal recognition
of your Canadian Marriage in the U.S, Jesus Lebron.”
The picture beaming to the world on the billboard comes on the heels of
New York banning legal marriage to gay couples.
Fay and Moulton will be on vacation in Ireland next week but will use
the time to meet with members of the Irish government to ask them to join
Spain, Belgium, Netherlands, Massachusetts and Canada in extending marriage
rights to gay couples.
