| McDowell Defends Connolly Leaks
American philanthropist Chuck Feeney was shown Garda (police) files on
journalist Frank Connolly which covered more than 20 years, it has emerged.
Feeney was shown the confidential files at a meeting with Justice Minister
Michael McDowell in September at which McDowell asked Feeney to withdraw
funding for an anti-corruption body, the Center for Public Inquiry (CPI),
which Connolly was heading.
