Bono makes his poverty plea to
the world elite
Irish rock star Bono is set to team up with Taoiseach Bertie Ahern in
the Alps this week in a bid to try to solve the problems facing the planet.
The U2 frontman will appear on the world stage alongside world leaders
and other influential businessmen at the World Economic Forum for 2007
at Davos in Switzerland.
Bono — who is a regular visitor to the annual meeting in Switzerland
— joins Microsoft chief Bill Gates, other bosses of Forbes’
top 100 businesses and presidents, prime ministers and princes to discuss
what’s going wrong with the world.
Bono is expected to appeal to the world’s richest men in a bid to
try to combat the poverty of Africa during his time there.
