Daniel Day Lewis’s eccentric new role

Irish actor Daniel Day Lewis stars alongside Camilla Belle and Catherine Keener in Rebecca Miller’s movie The Ballad of Jack and Rose.

Playing the eccentric hippy dad — who begins to harbour impure thoughts about his teenage daughter — Day Lewis finds his trouble is only beginning when he invites his girlfriend and her sons to live with him.

His daughter sees it as a betrayal and sets about wrecking an already fragile and inappropriate set-up.

The Ballad of Jack and Rose is currently showing at cinemas nationwide.
