| Dublin will get its kicks from the
flicks It’s
that time of year when Irish film lovers go crazy — Dublin’s
International Film Festival.
The 10-day event will feature more than 100 flicks in cinemas all over
the city.
Launching the festival is the premiere of Paul Mercier’s Studs starring
Brendan Gleeson.
The football film will mark one of several themes over the festival including
Irish cinema, soccer specials, documentaries and dramas.
Other films included in the festival are George Clooney’s Syriana,
Johnny Was, starring Patrick Bergin and Vinnie Jones and The Ballad of
Jack and Rose starring Daniel-Day Lewis.
Festival director Michael Dwyer said: “Of all the film festivals
I have programmed, I have never been so satisfied as I am with the standard
of the films secured for this year’s Jameson Dublin International
Film Festival.”
