Finally Ash and Charlotte part

The will she/won’t she debate surrounding Ash’s Charlotte Hatherley is over.

The singer has left the band of nine years to pursue a solo career and she’s currently reported to be working on her second album alongside XTC member Andy Patridge, Rob Ellis and Eric Drew Feldman.

The joint statement read: “After nine years Ash and Charlotte Hatherley have mutually agreed to part company. The decision is entirely amicable and they wish each other the very best for the future.

“Ash are returning to the studio later this year to make the follow-up to 2004’s Meltdown album, Charlotte is currently recording tracks for her second solo album, which she plans to release in the autumn.”
