Get into Irish history IRELAND History Month is launched
in Leeds on Sunday, March 2 at the Carriageworks Theatre in Millennium
Square.
This is a one-day free family-friendly event with workshops on music,
dance and crafts, live traditional music sessions and a range of stalls,
exhibitions and displays.
There are performances from Ceoltóirí Coleman — a
group of traditional Irish musicians all the way from Co. Sligo and a
CD launch from the London-based traditional Irish band The Long Notes.
Authentic Irish cuisine will also be on sale.
The event also includes the official launch of Irish History Month 2008
which takes place in venues across the city throughout the month of March.
