| Gleeson completes world domination
Irish
actor Brendan Gleeson has landed the role of wartime leader Winston Churchill
in a major new movie about the Prime Minister.
It makes him the third Irish actor to get the part of playing a famous
world leader in the coming year. Liam Neeson is lined up to portray US
President Abraham Lincoln in an up-coming Stephen Spielberg biopic while
Stanley Townsend will star as Saddam Hussein in a Channel 4 drama later
this year.
Insiders say it is likely Gleeson will be able to keep his trademark Dublin
accent to play Britain’s favourite leader.
Churchill At War is expected to be released next year with Gleeson portraying
the formidable leader during World War II.
Gleeson is currently filming a dark comedy with Colin Farrell and Ralph
Fiennes in Belgium. |
