No need to get wed says Charlize

With Grainne McLoughlin

Charlize Theron has ended speculation she is set to wed her long-term love Stuart Townsend, insisting they will never marry.

The Oscar winning actress, 30, is deeply in love with the 33-year-old Irishman but doesn’t believe they need a marriage certificate to cement their relationship. The couple have been dating since 2001.

She also insists she has enough designer dresses to satisfy her urge for a bridal gown.

She said: “Marriage is not what either of us want. But that doesn’t mean I don’t want to spend the rest of my life with him.

“I don’t need to wear a white dress and throw a big party. To me that is like a premiere.” Theron did reveal however that her Oscar-nominated portrayal of a single mother in the new film North Country forced her to consider starting a family of her own.

She said: “My biggest fear in this film was my relationship with the children because I don’t have any kids of my own.

“It really made me think.”
