Piers to terminate Arnie’s
plans

Former Bond star Pierce Brosnan is squaring up against Hollywood toughman
Arnold Schwarzenegger — to protect the stunning Malibu beach in
his backyard.
The actor, who played the world’s best-known secret agent, is urging
the former action hero who is now Governor of California to stop a massive
mining company from building an energy plant in front of his ocean-front
home. The star is so upset by the prospect of a natural gas plant off
the coast of Malibu he will lead a mass paddle protest in the ocean. The
Irish actor and 100 surfers will swim out to protest at the Malibu site
where a liquified natural gas terminal is planned.
Brosnan is getting together with a Who’s Who of Hollywood stars
including Sting, Cindy Crawford, Danny De Vito, Babara Streisand, Tom
Hanks, Jane Seymour, Charlize Theron and Stuart Townsend. The former 007
star, who is constantly campaigning on green issues, now has an environmental
disaster waiting to land on his own doorstep. The concerned actor and
his Hollywood pals have now written a petition to try to rile up all their
neighbours in Malibu against the company building the terminal.
