Respected fiddler Tommy People to appear in Glasgow

TOMMY People was a leading light in Irish music circles in the late 1960s in London and a former member of the Bothy Band.

He is considered one of the foremost exponents of the Donegal-style of fiddle playing and commands great respect by his fellow musicians.

He has now returned to his hometown of St. Johnstone in east Donegal but will be making a trip to Scotland for a workshop and performance on Saturday, November 10 in Edinburgh and on Sunday, November 11 will be performing at Lauries Acoustic Music Centre in King Street in Glasgow.

He will be supported by vocal group Pallaver and also booked provisionally for the night are the Reid sisters Aileen and Julia — two of the best young traditional Irish musicians from Glasgow who play a plethora of instruments as well as being lovely singers.
