Irish film star Stephen Rea is set to team up with hardman Vinnie Jones for a new crime thriller called The Heavy.

The movie centres on two brothers, one a henchman and one a politician, whose sibling rivalry turns into murder and betrayal. Stephen Rea will play a successful, yet shady, businessman who employs one of the brothers as his henchman while Vinnie Jones plays a corrupt detective.

Rea has recently wrapped filming on the home-grown movie Kisses, which starred two unknown Irish school kids.

The Belfast star, who turned 60 last year, has completed a string of movies over the last 12 months.

His latest, Until Death, centres on a detective addicted to heroin.

The prolific Irish actor has also wrapped production on a Hollywood movie with Hilary Swank.
