Stout festival coincides with Paddy’s weekend
Beer
drinkers and chocoholics alike are in for a treat this St. Patrick’s
weekend thanks to the return of a popular drink at a London stout festival.
The Porterhouse in Covent Garden will host its annual Stout Festival and
will mark the occasion with the return of the world’s first ever
Chocolate Truffle Stout — brewed by the cutting-edge Porterhouse
Brewing Company in Dublin.
Following huge success over the last three years, the drinks event gives
connoisseurs a chance to sample an extensive range of unique stouts, ales
and lagers.
And the Porterhouse’s Plain Porter, Wrasslers 4X and award-winning
Oyster Stout are just some of the tipples on offer over the festival weekend.
Served on tap, the Chocolate Truffle Stout is brewed adding a rich chocolate
essence mixed with a chocolate malt and chocolate truffle to give a rich,
full-bodied texture.
Commenting on the stout festival Porterhouse managing director Oliver
Hughes said: “Because the brewing of great stout is a complicated
art, we are proud to play host to the celebration of these unique stouts,
giving people the opportunity to sample our premium selection.”
During the festival enthusiasts can enjoy free tasting, stout talks and
live music from resident Irish band Hungry Grass.
The festival, which also runs in the four Irish-based Porterhouse bars,
is taking place at the Covent Garden Porterhouse from Thursday, March
13 to Monday, March 17. |
