Pitt and Jolie get in on the picture

HOLLYWOOD superstar couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie now have a little piece of Ireland hanging in their home — courtesy of illustrator Annie West.

The Sligo artist was commissioned to create an illustration in celebration of the birth of the couple’s daughter, Shiloh Nouvel Jolie Pitt.

The work was a gift from a high-profile friend of the couple who contacted Annie’s agent in London after acquiring a piece of the award-winning artist’s work himself.

Annie had a difficult time deciding what the couple would appreciate.

She said: “It was an awful hard thing to do as the client said do anything you want.

“I didn’t have a clue what to do so I researched what was happening with them and what they might enjoy.”

Annie finally decided on a group shot of colourful animals in a forest scene collectively staring at a poster on a tree detailing the birth of four-month-old Shiloh Nouvel. The piece is sketched in ink and pen.

Annie added that the special parcel — which measured two foot squared — was then packaged off to the proud parents in Miami via Castle Street Post Office.

The artist has previously created artwork for such high-

profile clients such as Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman, Mick Galway and Neil and Brenda Jordan.

She is also involved in creating a 2007 calendar of illustrations of buildings in and around Sligo, commissioned by Sligo County Council.
