Moore plays benefit gig

Legendary Irish folk artist Christy Moore is set to play a Dublin benefit gig for the victims of the recent New Orleans disaster.

The singer/songwriter will perform at Vicar Street on Tuesday September 20 in a night billed as Christy Moore & Friends.

All proceeds from the show will go to the Red Cross in a bid to help fund its effort to aid the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Tickets for the show — which is fully seated — are on sale and priced at E40 from usual outlets.
