Oxegen pulls in the crowd

Oxegen CrowdIreland’s biggest gig the Oxegen Festival at Punchestown Racecourse in Co. Kildare proved a massive hit last weekend.

A crowd of 70,000 attended the Festival — the largest of its kind in the country — and around 60,000 fans camped on site at the two-day music event.

Featuring over 80 acts on five different stages, the line-up included Irish rock band The Frames, British indie band Keane and US rockers Green Day.

Everyone enjoyed the weather, music and fun and gardaí reported that overall it was a good-humoured event.

Tickets for next year’s festival go on sale this Friday.
