| Chronicling a Century of Irish History
The old saying goes that the problem with the Irish is that they can
never forget their history and the problem with the British is they can
never remember it.
The probable truth is that Irish people know the details of their history
about as well as they know the landscape.
They know where they’re from like the back of their hand and have probably
visited the famous landmarks — the Cliff of Moher and the Ring of Kerry,
the Giant’s Causeway and the Rock of Cashel — but may not even be sure if
they have ever been through Laois.
