Cobh man is charged over his brother’s
death
A 24-year-old Cobh man has been charged with the manslaughter of his
brother.
The charge follows an incident last summer during which a car entered
the water at the deep-water quay in Cobh and a man drowned.
Edward O’Mahoney was brought before a sitting of the District Court
last week and charged with the unlawful killing of his brother Patrick.
He was also charged with unlawfully driving a car, causing risk to another
and with driving while under the influence of an intoxicant at Westburn
Place earlier that day, July 7.
Evidence of arrest, charge and caution was given and the court was told
that the defendant has been very co-operative with the garda investigation
and bail was not opposed.
He is due to appear before the court again on January 24. |
