v St. Patrick’s Athletic
Belfield Park Friday 7.45pm
Pat’s will be hoping to get their title challenge back on track
having lost their first game of the season at the weekend to Cork City.
Johnny McDonnell’s team will welcome back Alan Kirby from injury
and will also be able to call upon Steven Paisley for the last time before
the former Longford Town player begins a suspension.
Verdict: Away Win
Drogheda United v Bray Wanderers
United Park 7.45pm Friday
Having missed the opportunity to go top of the League when they were
surprisingly held by Waterford Drogheda will be hoping to get back on
track.
The return of captain Declan O’Brien adds a measure of muscle to
the Louthmen’s attack but Bray are a notoriously difficult side
to break down at home and could get a draw here.
Verdict: Draw
Sligo Rovers v Cork City
The Showgrounds 7.45pm Friday
Cork’s victory over Pat’s rocketed them back into contention
but that could change against a Sligo team who always do well at home.
Rovers will be without Piotr Biazdiak who was sent off against Shamrock
Rovers last week but otherwise have a full squad to choose from.
Cork manager Damien Richardson also has a full squad available.
Verdict: Draw
Derry City v Shamrock Rovers
The Brandywell 7.45pm Friday
Two sides at the wrong end of the table but with vastly different ambitions
clash on Friday night.
Rovers were hugely impressive in defeating Sligo and against a Derry side
who have shown little in the way of form this season Rovers could claim
the win.
Pat Scully’s men will be without midfielder Danny O’Connor.
Verdict: Away win
Bohemians v Longford Town
Dalymount Park, 7.45pm Friday
Longford have started to gather points in recent weeks and their defence
has been particularly impressive.
Facing them is a Bohs side which has struggled in front of goal but with
a decent home record they will be difficult to break down.
There are unlikely to be many goals in this one and a scoreless draw looks
most likely.
Verdict: Draw
