Killiney

The name Killiney comes from the Irish cill Inion Lenine, which means Church of the Daughters of Lenine. A tiny medieval church, dating back to the 11th century, is dedicated to the seven daughters of Lenine who are believed to have lived in the 6th century. Killiney Park features cliff and woodland walks with superb views over Dublin city and Dun Laoghaire harbour, Dalkey Bay, ofter compared to the Bay of Naples, with the Sugar Loaf and Dublin mountains in the distance. In Killiney there are two well known Hotels Fitzpatrick Castle a beautiful 4 Star Hotel with full leisure centre, and Killiney Court, which overlooks Killiney Bay is an excellent 3 Star Hotel.
