At the junction of several by roads, the small and pleasant village of Stoneyford is sited in the foothills of the Antrim Plateau, about five miles north of Lisburn Town and three miles south of Dundrod. The topography of the surrounding countryside makes the village and its environs a natural collecting area for domestic water supplies, and fishing in the Leathemstown and Stoneyford reservoirs is a popular pastime.
