When you order our "Ask A Pro" service and one of our expert genealogists will provide you a custom consultation that specifically addresses your unique research needs. We will provide you with a detailed list of suggestions, at least three (3) different strategies and several resources that you can use to help solve your research problem. We offer you several new approaches so you can try them all.

This offer does not include research. It is for family historians who wish to have some advice to make their own research more successful. For in-depth research, see our other options below.

With this option, our experts will spend 4 hours: (a) reviewing your previous work; (b) researching records sources that pertain to the individual you submit to us; AND (c) summarizing the results in a letter. The summary report, a list of sources consulted, and copies of original records (when found) will be mailed to you.

We will aim to provide you with details about your ancestors such as where they were born, where they lived, when they married and to whom, how many children they had, when they emigrated, and when they died, depending on the goals that you outline for us.

Because the research time allotted is relatively brief, Mini Projects are limited in scope. These are recommended for individuals who were born between 1840 and 1900 in Ireland or elsewhere in Western Europe. Mini Projects are not recommended for (a) problem research that you've worked on for many years or (b) common surname research. If you need help with these latter genealogical problems, the In-Depth Research Project below is more appropriate.

Our experts will undertake an In-depth Research Project consisting of 10 hours of professional research, analysis, and writing. The 10 hour block is fairly standard and usually gives us the time we need to:
- review any previous research
- develop a research methodology
- research the family
- write up the report for you
- assemble the documentation.

Research will closely focus on the goals you specifically give us. We will trace your ancestry, according to your interests, as far as we can and in as much detail as we can in the time allotted. We can provide details about when and where your ancestors were born, where they lived, when they married and to whom, how many children they had, their religion, when they emigrated, and when and where they died.

Each in-depth project will include a detailed research report with full citations, copies of research calendars, and copies or abstracts of all relevant documents. When the project is successful, family group sheets and pedigree charts reflecting the new information can be produced. Reports are delivered by priority mail.

Although there are no guarantees of successful results in any field of research, we do guarantee that we will search logical sources, provide expert analysis, and give you an honest appraisal of the project's likelihood for continued success. There are many variables that determine the success and speed of research progress, but we are very frugal and intelligent with our research time for our clients.
